Big hearts, big voices, big help for Vail Valley businesses

Michael Kurz
Vail, CO, Colorado

In previous columns I’ve taken the time (space) to encourage local businesses to help each other get through the challenging times we’re facing in the Vail Valley today.

Today, I have a success story to relate about just that. As you know, the Vail Valley Partnership is a non-profit organization. You may not know that unlike many similar chamber and tourism bureaus across the country, we are not permanently funded by local municipalities, the county or the state. We are very much beholden to our sponsors, members and clients for our continued existence. As such, we rely immensely on the kindness of our partners in the mass media community to provide us with space and time to promote our organization, events and activities. Without them, their generosity, counsel and support we would have a very limited chance of success, especially when marketing budgets are scarce and even finding the funds for recruitment advertising comes dearly.

So, aside from the one-to-one appreciation we continually express to the individual managers, producers, reporters and representatives we enjoy working with every day, here is a very public thank you from the bottom of our hearts to these fine organizations without whom we would be a very faint voice in the wilderness.

Suffice to say that their support to this community far exceeds their involvement with the Partnership and that those in the know about the inner workings of the organizations that are the heart of the Vail Valley will certainly applaud with us, the fine men and women of: The Vail Daily, the Vail Mountaineer, the Denver Newspaper Agency, KZYR-FM, TV8, Plum TV and NRC Radio (especially KTUN-FM, KSKE-FM, JACK-FM), Comcast and the Parents Handbook.

Your commitment to business and business people make our days a whole lot easier. Thank you. Thank you.
