Big Micky Poage fans, friends
Vail, CO, Colorado
Paul Beckler’s recent article on Micky Poage, “The legend of The Lodge at Vail,” really brought a smile to my face. My wife and I spend two months in the summer in Vail, and we are big Micky Poage fans — and count ourselves lucky to be considered friends of Micky and Karen.
It was a honor that “Bob’s Medley” was mentioned in the article — I am that Bob. We were in the bar one evening, and I merely suggested two or three songs. Micky knows how much I enjoy his creations — i.e., his gift of stringing together music on the fly.
What came out of the piano that evening was truly amazing, an original portrait that was floating in his creative head.
As much as I was honored that the medley was named in the article, it is a greater honor to be considered a friend by Micky and Karen.
