Bike to Work Day is Wednesday

EAGLE COUNTY – Leave your keys at home and don’t spend a cent to fill up the gas tank. Wednesday is Colorado Bike to Work Day. The ECO Trails Committee, along with local bike shops and businesses, are supporting this statewide event by rewarding citizens who bike or walk to work. Over the last few years, local governments and the Colorado Department of Transportation have expanded bike trails in Eagle County.
On Wednesday, volunteers will man rest stops from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Sonnenalp Resort in Vail, the Dowd Junction pedestrian bridge, the Avon Highway 6 roundabout, Edwards Corner, the Mountain Pedaler in Eagle and on Highway 6 in Gypsum. Visitors to the rest stops will be offered refreshments as well as free giveaways for making the effort to ride or walk to work.
