Bikers to raise funds for Vail Valley trails
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” Cyclists will raise money for the valley’s recreation paths in the 23rd annual Casual Classic Bicycle Ride on Sept. 6.
The ride will benefit efforts to build oaths from Vail Pass to Glenwood Canyon, including a major spur trail to Red Cliff that will connect all communities of the Vail and Eagle valleys.
Riders may peddle a full round-trip of 76-miles starting and ending at the Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, but most riders will be shuttled at 8 a.m. from the Hotel to Breckenridge.
They will ride 10 miles to Frisco and then seven miles to Copper Mountain, followed by a five-mile trip up Vail Pass and ending with a 16-mile downhill ride to the Bully Ranch at the Sonnenalp Resort for a barbecue buffet.
Participate in The Longevity Project
The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.
There will be snack and drink stations along the route.
Check-in for the race takes place from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Sonnenalp. There is a minimum donation of $75 per rider. The donation to attend only the barbecue is $25.
