Birds of Prey Thursday Night Lights in Beaver Creek
BEAVER CREEK, Colorado Now that youve finished slicing the Thanksgiving turkey, plan on carving up the snow at Beaver Creek on Thursday evening. Beaver Creek Resort will host a special edition of the popular public ski-down Thursday Night Lights to help welcome the world to Beaver Creek.Scheduled for 5:30 p.m., participants will need to be intermediate to advanced skiers and register at the Beaver Creek Ski School Desk prior to the ski down. The ski school desk will open at 5 p.m. for registration, and no lift ticket is required to participate.Thursday Night Lights is a great family activity throughout the winter, said Michael Imhof, vice president of sales and operations for the Vail Valley Foundation. We are pleased that Beaver Creek has agreed to this special Birds of Prey edition to help us welcome the World Cup to Beaver Creek.In addition to the ski down, the evening will also include free hot chocolate and cookies, music courtesy of the U.S. Air Force Drum & Bugle Corps, an autograph session with the U.S. Ski Team and precision skiing by the Beaver Creek Demo Team. The evening will end with the presentation of the Birds of Prey Downhill race bibs to the worlds top skiers and a double dose of fireworks.We encourage everyone to come out and participate in this special Thursday Night Lights, Imhof said. Join us for a few moonlight turns, and celebrate the 2008 Audi Birds of Prey World Cup Race Week in Beaver Creek.The 2008 Audi Birds of Prey Race Week will include the super combined event on Thursday, downhill on Friday, super-G on Saturday and giant slalom on Sunday.
