Adopt a Family needs you
Tsu Wolin-Brown called, and there are at least 100 adopt-a-family recipients who are unmatched. More than 300 families who have applied for help. If you can do something, and you can, call Ginny Crowley at 476-5008 or the Salvation Army at 926-3704. You’ll be glad to know that The Salvation Army, who’s riding herd on this, was named one of the best over-all charities. Almost every penny you give them goes to those who need it.
Showshoe series cranks up
The fifth annual Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series is firing up. It’s a four-event series featuring 5K and 10K competitions, along with a Kids 1K Trot, all on Beaver Creek Mountain.
Registration at http://www.bcsnowshoe.com. A four-event pass, priced at $80, includes a Nike ACG Therma-Fit vest. Individual race registration is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the competition. The deadline for the four-event season pass is today.
The races are today, Jan. 11 and Feb. 22, with the North American Snowshoe Championships rounding out the series on March 15. All events begin at 11 a.m.
