Bites and Flights at Kelly Liken in Vail

VAIL, Colorado – Tuesday, Restaurant Kelly Liken and Winemaker/owner Brenda Lynch of Mutt Lynch Winery will team up for to raise funds for National Mill Dog Rescue. Chef Kelly Liken will pair seasonally inspired American dishes with three wines from Mutt Lynch Winery – Unleashed Chardonnay, Merlot Over and Play Dead and Portrait of a Mutt Zinfandel at Tuesday’s Bites and Flights event at the restaurant.

“If we can raise a little money for your local rescue group, which just took in like 90 dogs yesterday, that would be awesome,” Lynch said. “Every little dollar helps.”

The restaurant has been offering Bites and Flights Nights every Tuesday since early Nov. and will continue through Dec. 20. The “Bites” menu changes weekly and will include canapes of a trio of items prepared by Chef Liken as influenced by the notes of the wines. Examples of bites include a roasted beet and herbed goat cheese with crispy katifi; grilled Gulf shrimp with citrus water cress and macadamia nuts; and seared duck breast and duck confit with arugula hazelnut vinaigrette

Seating is limited. The cost is $25 per person, with $5 per person being donated to National Mill Dog Rescue (NMDR).

NMDR rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes retired commercial breeding dogs from facilities commonly referred to as “puppy mills.” NMDR gives these dogs a new beginning and a final chance to find happiness and comfort in a loving home.
