When we opened Cedar’s Flower Shop, we had a lot of fun coming up with decorations for the interior and exterior of the shop. We put flower baskets and wreaths on the exterior of the shop, knowing that it would entice people to come in and get flowers. One summer night we left a few flower baskets out after we closed. We arrived the next morning to find the flowers gone, but the baskets still there. Someone, or something, had eaten our flowers. We put some marigolds out thinking it would repel deer, and left the flower baskets out again. The next day we arrived again to find our flowers eaten, except the marigolds, but the baskets were left. We finally stayed after we closed the shop to find that there was a family who walked through the Edwards shops, and their two year old daughter was picking the flowers as she walked by when her parents weren’t looking. We left flowers out for her two or three nights a week that summer.
