What goods or services do you provide?
Non-medical home care, companionship, Consultation and Care Management.
What’s new or exciting at your place?
We are the only local and affordable in home care for the Vail Valley. We admire that our communities are growing older and staying to retire.
What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from your competition?
I cut out overhead by working from home. This provides an affordable rate to clients and higher wages to our caregivers. We are the only home care placement agency in Eagle County.
What philosophy do you follow in dealing with your customers? What can your customers expect from you?
My philosophy is to keep it simple and clear. The elderly don’t like to fuss over extensive details and long evaluations. I am informative, compassionate and patient.
Tell us a little about your background, education and experience:
As a medical social worker in gerontology, I have the knowledge, expertise and patience to create solutions to enable you to live at home for as long as possible. I am a local resource for our unique mountain communities and strive to know every service available to seniors. My accredited social work degrees (BSW, MSW) and long-term care experience working in nursing homes, directing assisted living facilities, hospitals and hospice care have given me the credentials to provide your solutions. As an implant to Colorado from Long Island N.Y., I have a strong work ethic, determination and professional boundaries to ensure you and your loved ones are given all options to make an educated decision about their long-term care needs.
What is the most humorous thing that has happened at your business since you opened?
The most humorous thing is not was has happened, but what some of my clients say. I was doing an in-home evaluation for services, while I was trying to stay positive about the older gentleman’s aging process by encouraging him to “embrace the golden years,” he commented, “Honey, the only thing golden at my age in my urine. Come on in here and I”ll show ya.” Of course he was kidding, but it sure was worth a good, long laugh.
