Participate in The Longevity Project
The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.
What do you do? We’re a restaurant and wine bar. We serve rustic American food and have more than 40 wines by the glass or half-glass.
What makes your business unique? Our wine list. We have the largest wine-by-the-glass program in the valley. We also use seasonal ingredients whenever we can.
What’s your background in the business? We were all working together for Vail Resorts, at Toscanini in Beaver Creek, and we’d been talking about opening a restaurant together. This space became available and that speeded up our decision.
What has you excited about 2009? We have a year under our belts now, and we’re having a great response.
What are you doing to be successful in 2009? We have specials every night. There’s always something new on the menu. If you come in every couple of weeks, there will be something new to try.
Our wine list is always changing, too. And half of all our wines are $10 or less per glass. Our challenge is to find interesting wines and dishes to go with them.
What’s the coolest thing that’s happened to you since you’ve been open? All of the great winemaker dinners and events we’ve had so far. We had the “Pinot Posse” here, a group of pinot makers. That was really special.
