Black bear shot near Eagle
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE, Colorado – According to a spokesman from the Colorado Department of Parks and Wildlife, an Eby Creek Mesa resident has been issued a ticket related to a bear shooting Monday night.
Spokesman Mike Porras reported that Eby Creek Mesa resident Joseph Giegling, 26, was issued a ticket for the “unlawful take of a black bear” by a district wildlife manager from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
The fine for this ticket is $1,372.50 and 15 points against hunting and fishing privileges. At 20-plus points, a person’s hunting and fishing privileges are suspended.
“He has the option of paying the fine, or he may take it to court,” said Porras. “If he chooses to take it to court, we will turn over the facts of the case to the district attorney at that time.”
Because the issue may go to court, Porras said he can not offer further details at this time.
