EAGLE – Blues guitarist Randall Dubis returns to the stage at the Bowlmor Caf & Lounge, in the Back Bowl in Eagle Saturday at 8 p.m.With a resume that reveals a life of years on the road developing and plying his craft, Dubis has the licks and the chops that speak for themselves. He has worked with some of the greatest blues musicians of our time, touring full time across the U.S., Canada and Europe with the great blues lap steel guitar legend Sonny Rhodes. That tour included 21 blues festival appearances, 19 of which Sonny topped the bill.Dubis also performed with the late Chicago bluesman Son Seals at club dates and festival appearances. Mentored by both Rhodes and Seals, it is clear he absorbed the best of their styles and honored their influences in his performance skills. After several gigs at the Back Bowl, general manger Joe Gonzalez was convinced that Dubis was one act that needed to return. “This guy is the real deal,” Gonzalez said. “His sound is simply amazing. He literally brought things to a halt, as even bowlers from the adjacent lanes wandered over to see who was putting out this incredible music”As a fixture on Denver’s blues and jazz scene, Dubis collaborates with several other local musicians either as a band under his name or, as is the case with Saturday’s Bowmor show, a duo. He also appears at many of the region’s music and blues festivals. This week’s appearance at the Back Bowl is part of The Back Bowl’s ongoing Jammin’ at the Bowlmor music series that brings the best in local and regional acts to Eagle. There is no cover charge for the show. The Back Bowl is located at 50 Chambers Ave, in Eagle.
