EDWARDS, Colorado – The Battle Mountain High School Cheerleaders are hosting a Mini Cheers camp Saturday. The camp will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Battle Mountain High School. All children in kindergarten through eighth grade are welcome to participate.

During the camp, the cheerleaders will work with participants to teach cheers and other elements of cheerleading, like kicks and jumps. The cheerleaders will show participants some of the new pieces they have been working on this year and involve them in preparation for the next varsity football game.

“The girls have been working very hard this year to prepare for Homecoming and competition season, they hope to show the younger cheerleaders what this sport is all about,” said Coach Brenda Carlson. “We hope that the young cheerleaders out there will join us for this fun camp!”

On Oct. 15, all participants will help the Battle Mountain cheerleaders support the Varsity football team when they take on the team from Moffat County High School. They will perform the cheers they learned during camp at halftime during the game and will help the cheerleaders on the sidelines.

The cost to participate in the Mini Cheers camp is $50. This includes the four-hour camp with lunch, a T-shirt, and admission to the football game on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. To register or ask questions, contact Coach Carlson at
