Body found on Jefferson County bike path

GOLDEN – A dead body has been found on a bike path in Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office says the body was discovered Sunday at about 6:30 a.m. by a bicyclist. The gender and identity of the victim wasn’t announced, nor any circumstances of the death.

Jacki Kelley, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said the death does not appear suspicious.

Authorities have closed the portion of the bike path under C-470 from Ken Caryl to Bowles.
