Bomb threat empties Vail bar
Vail CO, Colorado
VAIL”A woman phoned in a bomb threat to a Vail bar, prompting the bar to evacuate customers, said Cmdr. Susan Douglas of the Vail Police Department.
The woman called the Red Lion in Vail Village at 10:35 p.m. on March 12 and told a Red Lion employee that a bomb would detonate in the bar in 20 minutes, Douglas said. Police searched inside and outside the bar and found no bomb after customers were evacuated.
The Red Lion shut down for the night, but reopened today, she said.
Jennifer Long, co-owner of the bar, said she would not comment.
Vail police have “very strong” leads but are still investigating, Douglas said.
