VAIL — A book signing and artist talk by Helen Hiebert will take place at the Alpine Arts Center in Edwards on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Hiebert, a local artist and author will sign copies of her new book “Playing With Pop-Ups,” and give a short presentation about her work with paper (Hiebert will talk at 6 p.m.).
Hiebert’s works in paper are on display at Alpine Arts Center now through June 9. She is showing paper weavings, a series of string drawings in handmade paper, and a group of translucent sculptural paper dresses. Alpine Arts Center invites the public to attend Hiebert’s reception, view the artwork on display, meet the artist, enjoy complimentary appetizers, and enter a raffle to win a copy of “Playing With Pop-Ups.”
On Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m., Hiebert will host a workshop at the arts center in which participants will create pop-up paper flowers and cards based on projects in Hiebert’s book. Register individually or as a family for this creative workshop, or give this workshop as a Mother’s Day gift so mom can enjoy some creative time on her special day.
