EDWARDS – The Bookworm of Edwards announces three new writers to host its Meet The Author Book Club Series.Carol McManus, author of “Ida,” discusses her new biography, “Bess,” at Eat! Drink! at 5 p.m. Aug. 18 Tickets are $20.Mark Spragg, author of “Fruit of Stone,” introduces his new novel, “An Unfinished Life,” at Eat! Drink! at 5 p.m. Sept. 13. Tickets are $20.Philippa Gregory, author of “The Other Boleyn Girl,” presents her latest historical fiction release, “Earthly Joys,” at the Vail Mountain Marriott at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 23. Tickets are $20 before Aug. 15 and $25 after that date.McManus’ biography of her grandmother, Ida Herwick, is the true, expanded story of a woman who settled in the Eagle Valley in the late 1800s. McManus also displays mastery in storytelling and research in her newest book, the story of Colorado pioneer, mother and ranch wife in the 1900s.Spragg attended the Festival of Words in 2000 with his memoir, “Where Rivers Change Direction.” His novels, typically set in the ranchlands of Wyoming, are written accounts of the landscape and the families that inhabit them. “An Unfinished Life” will be released in paperback in July and as a major motion picture starring Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman in September.Back by popular demand is Gregory, author of “The Other Boleyn Girl,” The Bookworm’s No. 1 bestseller of all time. In her next visit to the valley, she’ll discuss the final book in the Boleyn series, “The Virgin’s Lover,” as well as her newest paperback original, “Earthly Joys.” Call 926-READ for reservations .
