Colorado author, Linda Petrie Bunch, has written a book called “A Snow Day For Hannah” about her Bernese Mountain Dog. Friday evening the Bookworm of Edwards hosts Petrie Bunch, and a very special canine, for one of many storytime events planned this year. The author will read her book and show children how Hannah likes to have fun outside on a snowy day. Afterwards, kids can color a picture of Hannah and enjoy milk and a homemade sweet snack. “We can’t wait to host another storytime event,” said Kelli Kostroski, the marketing and events manager at the Bookworm. “Our children’s section keeps growing and we love showcasing great picture books by local authors. Kids are invited to bring their favorite stuffed toy and mimic the adventures of Hannah during the story.”What if you were a young kid who had never seen a mountain or experienced a blizzard, or played in fresh snow? Hannah, the curious and bouncy Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, loves to climb mountains and play in the snow. When she senses a winter storm coming, she high-tails it home to wait for the fabulous fun she’ll have after the snow falls. The blizzard over, she bounds outside to play in fluffy fresh powder, building snowmen and angels, sledding and hiking – winter sports kids love. With plenty of Colorado winter mountain photographs, Petrie Bunch unfurls the first in a series of rhyming stories of the adventures of Hannah, a cute little pup. The author will sign books during the event. A portion of the proceeds from book sales will be donated to Boys and Girls Clubs throughout Colorado. “Boys & Girls Clubs provide amazing opportunities for children to expand their horizons and I’m honored to be able to help this cause,” said Petrie Bunch. Hannah’s next adventure book comes out this May in “A Beach Day for Hannah.”
