Boy falls to death hiking with family in Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — A young boy who was hiking with his family died after falling in southwest Colorado Springs.
Police Lt. Mike Velasquez tells The Gazette (https://goo.gl/KuhV0O ) that the boy, whose name and exact age have not been released, fell near Gold Camp Road on Friday afternoon and was dead when a high-angle rescue team found him.
Police are investigating the fall as an accident.
Deadly falls have happened in the area before. In April, a 24-year-old hiker died after a 40-foot fall near Gold Camp Road between Tunnels 1 and 2.
