Boz Scaggs plays only Colorado date Monday at Vilar

VAIL – One of the most distinctive voices in popular music, Boz Scaggs, will be in concert with his band at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
A genuine love and passion for soul, rock and blues have shaped Scaggs’ musical style through the years. Scaggs’ sly vocals and distinct guitar style have produced hit song after hit song through the years.
Born in Texas and raised with an abiding respect for a wide spectrum of American roots music, Scaggs’ learned to play the guitar in his teens and was introduced to Steve Miller. He would later appear on the Steve Miller Band’s first two albums, “Children of the Future” and “Sailor.”
Scaggs’ solo career was launched in the 1970s and in 1976, he recorded the album “Silk Degrees,” which reached No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 1 in a number of countries across the world, spawning three hit singles: “Lowdown,” “Lido Shuffle,” and “What Can I Say,” as well as “We’re All Alone.” “Lowdown” sold over one million copies in the U.S.
With an extensive and distinctive career that has spanned 30 years and many accolades, Scaggs continues to prove himself as one of music’s most creative and original artists. The Grammy Award-winning artist’s concert at the VPAC will include the best known songs of the rock troubadour’s career.
