Bravo! awards scholarships
Vail, CO, Colorado
VAIL ” Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival has awarded music camp scholarships to eight local area students, who will study music over the summer. The scholarships were made possible, in part, through the efforts of the Festival’s volunteer Guild.
Bravo! offers summer scholarships each year to Eagle and Lake County students. The award, up to $400 per student, applies toward camp tuition with each student selecting a camp of their choice.
“These kids really work hard and music is very important part of their education and their lives” said Liz Campbell, Bravo!’s community outreach director. “We are proud to support their efforts.”
Several of the recipients will attend the Suzuki Camp in Beaver Creek. Other camps include Tony Guilizia’s Jazz camp at the University of Okoboji, Baylor University Piano Camp and Rocky Mountain Summer Music Camp.
The scholarship amount varies for each student and is based on the cost of camp tuition, the individual’s instrumental ability and financial need.
The Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival is committed to providing students with the opportunity to develop and excel in their discipline of music, allowing them to strive towards a professional career in music.
Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival begins June 24 and runs through Aug. 2, featuring the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra and The New York Philharmonic. Other artists include Celtic Fiddler Eileen Ivers on July 2 and Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra on June 24.
