Bravo! gets a grand from gala
This week, the Vail Valley Chamber & Tourism Bureau presented the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival with a check for $1,050. The check represented a portion of the proceeds from the tourism bureaus Roaring 20s Gala held in January. At the event, Bravo! received the Success Connection award for nonprofit organization of the year.Bravo! had a tremendous impact on the Vail Valley last year, both culturally and economically, said Robin Litt, the tourism bureaus director of business development. We are thrilled to be able to donate the proceeds for the gala to such a deserving organization.Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival has been bringing world-class musical acts to the area for seventeen years. In 2003, the organization lured Americas flagship orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, to the festival for their first residency outside Manhattan. The festival saw record attendance of 57,000 people up 20 percent from 2002 with 34 percent of attendees coming to the Vail Valley specifically for the Bravo! concerts. The overall economic impact of the festival on the community was an estimated $11 million.
