Vail Public Library’s 2012 Summer Reading Program – Dream Big: READ – continues this week at the Vail Recreation District community room in the Lionshead Welcome Center.

The nine male vocalists who make up the ensemble Cantus will take children on a trip around the world with delightful songs from many different lands and cultures.

Along the way, students will hear Cantus tell the stories behind each of these songs, giving new appreciation for other cultures and a glimpse into the joy of singing. Tuesday’s event will take place at the Lionshead Welcome Center. Enter through Vail Recreation District’s Imagination Station, which is located on the southwest end of the second floor of the Welcome Center.

The 2012 Summer Reading Program is held from 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday (with entertainers beginning at 2 p.m.) through Aug. 7. All elementary students, local residents and visitors alike, are encouraged to join the free reading program. The goal is to keep students reading with fun activities and a few prizes for incentive. Participation in a summer reading program prepares students for a successful return to school in the fall.

Registration is free and available at the event. For more information, visit http://www.vaillibrary.com. Call 970-479-2187 for directions.
