VAIL ” Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival opens their 20th Anniversary season with pianist Natasha Paremski and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Wednesday at the Ford Amphitheater.

A bold, virtuosic pianist who conveys great lyricism and sensitivity in her playing, Natasha Paremski will perform Rachmaninoff’s “Concerto No. 2 in C minor for Piano and Orchestra.” She replaces Olga Kern who had to cancel.

Under the direction of conductor Christopher Seaman, The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will open the concert with one of Elgar’s most widely performed compositions, “Pomp and Circumstance in D Major.” The colorful orchestration and the lively march theme made this work instantly popular. The performance will conclude with Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 7 in A Major.” For its rhythmic drive and wild exuberance, Richard Wagner (1813-1833) described this symphony as an “apotheosis of the dance.”

The concert will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $23 for general admission lawn seating, $47 for regular reserved seating, $59 for premium reserved seating.
