Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival salutes freedom

VAIL – Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival will host a free Independence Day concert Saturday at the Village Green in Beaver Creek behind the Park Hyatt. The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will perform old and new arrangements of traditional American music. Conducted by Jeff Tyzik, the Rochester Philharmonic is one of the festival’s favorite, said LianaCarlson, Bravo! marketing manager. “This complimentary concert will embrace the spirit of independence and pay tribute to America. Attendees of this year’s Salute to Freedom can expect an exciting variety of popular American music, including the Star-Spangled Banner, selections from Oklahoma, Armed Forces Salute, several Sousa marches, and God Bless America. Distinguished soloist, Daniel Narducci, and local soloist, Lauren Vickers, will also be performing,” Carlson said.Narducci is well-known on both operatic and concert stages throughout North America and Europe. Since his professional debut with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Narducci has appeared with several world renowned orchestras, including The Boston Pops, Naples Philharmonic, and the Chicago Symphony, among others. Narducci’s stage credits are numerous, a few of which are, “Sweeney Todd,” “La Boheme,” “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” and two national tours of “Camelot.” Local student Lauren Vickers, who will be a senior this coming fall at Battle Mountain High School, will be singing the National Anthem.For the summer of 2005, Bravo! brings another season of classical music featuring the Rochester Philharmonic, the Dallas Symphony and the New York Philharmonic with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop.
