Breck opens Peak 7 on Dec. 14

BRECKENRIDGE, Colorado – With snow in the forecast and ideal snowmaking conditions, Breckenridge Ski Resort will open the Independence SuperChair and terrain on lower Peak 7 tomorrow morning, Friday, Dec. 14.
On Saturday, Dec. 15, skiers and riders will be able access Peak 10 terrain on the Falcon SuperChair. With the additions of Peak 7 and 10, the resort will offer guests almost 1700 acres of terrain.
The forecast is calling for snow tonight through Saturday. Skiers and riders should stay tuned to snow reports during the weekend as Breckenridge Ski Patrol will be adding terrain as conditions permit.
This weekend also marks the start of the competition season as the US Snowboard Grand Prix rolls into town. The world’s top snowboarders will go head to head Saturday in North America’s No. 1 pipe.
Finals are slated for noon in the Freeway Pipe located at Peak 8. The action continues in the pipe Saturday night with the Paul Mitchell Progression Session as invited riders compete in “Pipestyle”, a format that includes pipe and rail features. Saturday night heats up at 7 p.m. at Breckenridge’s Peak 8.
On Saturday, Dec. 15, adult ticket prices will go to $86 per day and $45 for children under 12.
