BRECKENRIDGE, Colorado ” Breckenridge pro snowboarder Jesse Csincsak and DeAnna Pappas, the couple made famous by their meeting on ABC’s reality TV show “The Bachelorette,” have broken up, according to a web posting at

Voice cracking and with a red face, Csincsak told his fans what happened in a video posting on the couple’s Web site.

“I did everything in my power to try and make this work,” Csincsak said in the video. “She’s a great person, but she wasn’t willing to try anymore … The answer I got was: ‘I love you but I’m not in love with you.'”

“That’s a lot to swallow, no matter who you are when you’re in love and you put yourself out there,” he said.

According to celebrity magazine In Touch Weekly, DeAnna Pappas said: “I really felt like I was going to spend the rest of my life with him. I thought he was my fairy-tale ending. But after the show was over and we settled in to our normal lives, I slowly came to realize that we are two totally different people, and it wasn’t going to work out.”

The In Touch story also reports Pappas will donate her ring to charity.

When the Summit Daily News caught up with Jesse and DeAnna for an Oct. 17 story, the couple spoke of their plans for the holidays and a 2009 wedding.

Csincsak told the Summit Daily on Monday that he could not comment on the topic and directed the interview to his publicist, who said there would be more information forthcoming.
