Breckenridge police seeking armed bank robber Monday

BRECKENRIDGE, Colorado –Breckenridge police this afternoon say they are hunting a white male who stole a bag of money from an armed guard inside Bank of the West Monday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Breckenridge Police Department, the man approached a Loomis guard in the vestibule of the bank on French Street at about 2:40 p.m. Monday. The man was armed with a small handgun and demanded the bag the guard was holding. The guard surrendered the bag – which presumably contained money – and the man fled on foot. Police say he ran north through the alley that runs behind the bank.

Physical description: White male, approximately 6’00 tall/unknown hair and eye color



Clothing: Dark colored “dew rag” on head, gray hoodie sweatshirt, with dark colored sweatpants and light colored athletic shoes.

Additional Information: Suspect is wearing large framed sunglasses and has a “gator” type scarf around his neck.
