Breckenridge ski resort reports skier death
A 53-year-old male skier from Colorado was pronounced dead at the Breckenridge Medical Center Monday after an apparent collision with a padded snowmaking hydrant on the intermediate section of the Sundown trail, located on Peak 9 at Breckenridge Ski Resort.
A call came into Breckenridge Ski Patrol at approximately 12:09 p.m. and ski patrol responded immediately, according to Vail Resorts officials.
Breckenridge ski patrol provided emergency life support and transported the patient to the Breckenridge Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
