September 23, 2005
LIONSHEAD – Up and coming artist Christopher Gino Dean and classic rock cover band The Brewsicians will perform for BigScott-a-thon IV Saturday night at Garfinkel’s in Lionshead. Dean will perform at 8:30 p.m., and The Brewsicians will take the stage around 10 p.m. Dean is one of the newest artists on the scene. Originally from Salt Lake City, Dean pulls from the grassroots influences of Marc Cohn and Don Chaffer into his own variety of acoustic rock. Dean performed during the 2002 Winter Olympics and has shared the stage with Jars of Clay and Newcomers Home. Dean’s albums include 2004’s “Other Side of Town” and his September release, “Forever, Out of Here.”Fort Collins-based classic rockers The Brewsicians will be returning to Garfinkel’s after performing for BigScott-a-thon III in Vail last October. Spanning the decades, from the classics of the ’60s and ’70s to the power ballads of the 1980s, the Brewsicians rock in their own unique style. Band members include Mike Moore and Kyle Endres on guitar/ vocals, Packer Crossland on drums, Jess Hill on vocals and new addition Casey Cisneros on bass.BigScott-a-thon IV is a weekend event full of contests and live music organized by Fort Collins radio personality Scott McVay. Started back in 2001, BigScott-a-thon has held annual venues in Denver and Salt Lake City before descending upon Vail in October 2004. Besides the live performances on Saturday, events include a poker tournament and BigScott’s Amazing Race II, in which two-person teams will compete for $1000 Saturday. For more information, log on to http://www.geocities.com/bigscottathon.
