Briefs: Big meeting in Eagle Thursday
EAGLE The town Thursday will give an overview of the proposed Eagle River Station shopping and residential complex. The meeting is at 6 p.m. at Town Hall. The town will discuss what the development might cost the town and how the town and the developer will share revenue. The development is plan for the east edge of town, east of Chambers Avenue.
VAIL The Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is seeking to appoint a resident to fill a vacancy on its board of directors. The empty seat is for District 3: a portion of Cascade Village and the Matterhorn and Intermountain neighborhoods in Vail; Eagle-Vail properties north of Highway 6; and portions of Avon including Buffalo Ridge and Mountain Star, much of downtown, and some Village at Avon properties. A map is available at the water districts Vail offices.Applicants must be registered to vote, have lived in the district for at least a month and own property in District 3.The board of directors meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District’s Vail offices. VAIL Vail Mountain Schools annual fundraising gala is Nov. 17 at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort & Spa. The school recently launched its online auction at http://vms.maestroweb.com.The gala begins at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction. EAGLE COUNTY A support group for people taking care of patients suffering from dementia and other debilitating illnesses will meet for the first time in December at the Avon Public Library from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.The group, which will meet the second Tuesday of every month, is meant to help caregivers deal with stress and to share ideas on taking care of the elderly, chronically ill or disabled. Currently, a similar support group meets from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., every third Tuesday of the month at the Golden Eagle Community Center, 715 Broadway, Eagle.
