Briefs: Dobson Ice Arena closed for a month

VAIL ” Dobson Ice Arena will be closed from Saturday until June 11 for replacement of the ice sheet and other repairs.
Dobson closes the season on Friday with an evening Mexican Dance. Upon reopening, the Vail Recreation District will resume operations and programming, including ShowTime Skating, hockey camps, open skating, and the largest Adult Hockey League in Dobson’s history with 26 teams competing throughout the summer.

GARFIELD COUNTY ” The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70, from the No Name overpass to the Grizzly Creek rest area, will be repaved beginning Monday.
There will be two-way traffic in the westbound lanes and the speed limit will drop to 40 m.p.h.. Work is supposed to be finished before July 4. This is the first in a series of repaving projects planned in Glenwood Canyon.
There also is two-way traffic at the Hanging Lakes tunnel, where repair work is underway.
In early May, approximately 43,000 Holy Cross Energy consumers will be mailed their 2006 Member Equity Allocation Notices and their share of nearly $2.9 million.
More than 4,600 consumers, entitled to less than $10, will receive a credit on their electric account.
Holy Cross Energy allocates revenues that exceed expenses back to its members.
“Over $39 million has been returned to members since June of 2000,” said Tom Turnbull, board president of Holy Cross Energy.
Members who received service in 2006 who do not receive an equity notice by May 15 should contact their nearest Holy Cross Energy office.
