Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – The Vail Valley Theatre Company and Slippery Slope Productions have teamed up to bring an evening of entertainment to the Vail Valley.
Fresh from her critically acclaimed portrayal of Anita in “West Side Story,” 2009 Tony Award Winner Karen Olivo will join local favorites Beth Swearingen, Lance Schober, Robert Wagner and others, for a cabaret-style event at the Fitz Lounge at the Manor Vail Resort. Tickets for the event are $25 and include entertainment, one drink and appetizers from the Fitz. The show will begin at 7 p.m. tonight and will be approximately two hours in length.
Some of the shows highlighted in the cabaret include “Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Into the Woods,” “Wicked” and more audience favorites.
Olivo will be in town performing for one night only, and will be teach a “Vocal Master Class” on Saturday to performers aged 9-35 (or older, if you can get approved by the instructors) along with renowned choreographer Sergio Mejia, who will teach the dance portion of the Class.
Robert Wagner, the owner of Slippery Slope Productions, organized the event.
“I think that giving this valley the opportunity to bring their acting, singing and dancing to the next level is really important, not only to me but to the theater community as a whole,” he said. “We want to be able to bring the best into this valley.”
There are a limited number of seats available for tonight’s show.
“The bottom line is that this is once in a lifetime opportunity to listen to and possibly even meet one of Broadway’s most talented performers,” said performer and board member Charis Patterson.
