‘Broadway … with Altitude’

Special to the Daily/Brad OdekirkFrom left to right: Mercedes Dauphinais, David Howell, Beth Swearingen, Lance Schober and Dawn Poff are the performers for "Broadway with Altitude" on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Beaver Creek Chapel. These musicians will perform Broadway favorites from "Phantom of the Opera," "Les Miserables," "Music Man," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Aida," "Rent" and "Into the Woods." The evening is a benefit for Vail Christian High School, Saint Clare of Assisi School and The Vail Academy Scholarship Funds. Tickets are available at each school and at the door, costing $50 for adults and $10 for students. All the musicians have been playing for years, some even connected to Broadway. Swearingen was a Broadway performer for an extended period of time. Schober performed on Broadway as Joseph in "Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat." Dauphinais has studied for the past year and a half in New York City with the voice coach for Bernadette Peters and Cher. Howell is currently studying music at the University of Colorado, and Poff is the evening's accompanist and has a doctorate degree from Julliard.
