Broken tail light leads to Eagle arrest

Vail Daily staff report
Eagle, CO Colorado

EAGLE, Colorado –A man got in trouble for drunk driving on June 5 in Eagle, Colorado, an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office report said.

Police spotted a red van driving around with a broken tail light at Third and Wall streets just before 7 p.m.

Police recognized the van because the driver, 58, had previously upset his neighbors by leaving the van running with the lights shining into the neighbors’ homes.

Police smelled alcohol on the driver. The driver admitted to sipping two beers at a local bar. He refused a portable breath test. He later received a blood test at the Vail Valley Medical Center.

The driver received a summons for drunken driving and having a defective tail light.
