Broncos lose two more players to injury

The Broncos will have to play their must-win and hope-for-help game against the Chiefs on Sunday without starting left guard Russ Hochstein and special teamer Kenny McKinley.

Both players will be placed on the injured reserve list today with knee injuries suffered in Sunday’s loss at Philadelphia. The team will be able to add two players to the 53-man roster by Wednesday, when it will hold its first practice in preparation of Sunday’s regular-season finale.

Coach Josh McDaniels said Hochstein, who left the game in the third quarter, will need surgery. McKinley, who was injured on a first-quarter kickoff return, left the stadium in Philadelphia on crutches and needs further evaluation.

Hochstein’s injury puts Ben Hamilton, the longest-tenured Bronco back in the starting lineup. He had been demoted in favor of Hochstein in early November.
