Daily Staff Report

BEAVER CREEK – For guests of Beaver Creek, a walk down from the lifts on a Monday or Wednesday afternoon might include a few unexpected sights: cowboys, mountain men and other interestingcharacters. They are “The Buckaroo Bonanza Bunch,” who for 19 years now, have been entertaining children at Beaver Creek. Characters like “Buckaroo” Bob, “Jackrabbit” Joe, “Sourdough” Pete and Thomas “The Too Tall Cowboy” have become part of the culture for Beaver Creek. In fact, people alike can find themselves skiing in sections of Beaver Creek named after the goofy bunch of thespians. Buckaroo Bowl and Jackrabbit Alley, for instance, are just two portions of the resort that take their names from the children’s characters. Tombstone Territory and Slanderous Sam’s hideout are two other sights that children stop to explore every day. On Mondays and Wednesdays, a trio of these western characters parade throughout Beaver Creek, hobnob with guests, tell stories to kids and pose for photographs. They will be entertaining until March. 29.”The Buckaroo Bonanza Bunch” and the Beaver Creek Children’s Theatre are owned and operated by Blue Creek Productions, Inc.
