Buddhist retreat slated for July 18
EDWARDS — Bodhimarga and the Edwards’ Buddhist Sangha presents The Union of Bliss and Emptiness with Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi on July 18 at 10 a.m.
This one-day retreat starts at 10 a.m. at the Edwards Ambulance Building Community Classroom, located behind the Edwards Post Office.
This retreat introduces the practice of guru yoga, which combines the essential aspects of the sutra path and profound tantra (Vajrayana) meditation practices. The retreat will consist of teachings, discussion, prayers and meditation.
Priyadarshi is a resident of the Prajnopaya Institute and Foundation, a worldwide humanitarian organization. He was ordained by his holiness The Dalai Lama, his spiritual mentor, and has trained under many great Buddhist teachers. He is the spiritual director of Bodhimarga, a Buddhist study and meditation group.
Registration for the event is at 9 a.m. Sign up online in advance at http://www.bodhimarga.org. The suggested donation is $75. All are welcome, but space is limited.
