EDWARDS — Alpine Arts Center is bringing city nightlife to the Vail Valley with its fourth annual pre-Valentine’s Day bash tonight. If you’ve never experienced a real burlesque performance, then this is your chance to see both burlesque and boylesque dancers in action. It’s a great date night or evening out with friends, and the perfect way to end a day after the 2015 ski races and concerts.
“Hypno Amber’s Burlesque Revue puts on an amazing show,” said Lauren Merrill, owner of Alpine Arts Center. “It’s a fun evening combining visual art and performance art, and the entire arts center is transformed with mood lighting and edgy artwork to give the full effect.”
In addition to the burlesque performance, local artists will be displaying nude drawings and paintings, as well as sketching on-site during the performance. Alpine Arts Center also features locally made jewelry, pottery, glass, cards and a small works painting exhibit with perfect one-of-a-kind, handmade Valentine’s gifts.
Tickets to An Evening of Burlesque are $40 and include a drink ticket, appetizers provided by Food by Marc, entertainment and music by DJ Mark. The event starts at 7 p.m., with burlesque performances at 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. Space is limited so purchasing tickets in advance is suggested, and you have to be 21 and older to get in.
Other Valentine’s Day Events
In addition to today’s events, Alpine Arts Center has a full day of events planned for Valentine’s Day. They are open for drop-ins on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with options such as painting, clay sculpture and paint pottery.
Alpine Arts Center also has a Cupcakes & Canvas class for families from 3-5 p.m., and a Cocktails & Canvas class for adults with individual or couples painting options at 6:30 p.m. Both classes are social and open to all levels with step-by-step instruction, and all materials are provided. Space is limited and advanced registration is required at least an hour before the class start time.
To purchase burlesque tickets, register for classes or to learn more about other art offerings at Alpine Arts Center, go to http://www.alpineartscenter.org or call 970-926-2732. Alpine Arts Center is located on the first level of the Edwards Commercial Park at 210 Edwards Village Blvd. Unit A105.
