East West Partners and Morgan Stanley Real Estate this week announced the acquisition of Three Sisters Mountain Village, an 1,800-acre, partially-completed Canadian Rockies resort near Banff, Alberta.

East West Partners will work with the existing management team to complete development of the resort.

“Three Sisters is unique because it is the only approved destination resort in an area completely surrounded by 2.8 million acres of protected public parklands,” said Harry Frampton, founding partner of East West Partners.

“We look forward to partnering with East West Partners on this truly remarkable project,” said Gregg Dawley, executive director and head of residential land development for Morgan Stanley Real Estate said.

Former Vail Town Manager Terry Minger is chairman of Three Sisters Mountain Village.

“Under the leadership of East West Partners, Three Sisters will become a world-class, four-season resort community that will serve as a center for adventure, health and wellness, sport, education and the arts, welcoming Albertans as well as an international clientele to its doorstep.”

Plum TV, channel 16 on Comcast in Vail and Beaver Creek, recently won a Heartland Regional Emmy for a 30-second commercial it produced for American Express. Plum was the only television station from Eagle County to be nominated and win an award.

The commercial promoted the American Express ad campaign “My life. My card.” and was shot last winter in Vail. The piece featured Vail local Penti Tofferi, a ski instructor and retired director of golf at Cordillera. The spot highlights Buzz Schleper and Vendettas along with some of Penti’s other favorite spots.

“We are very excited to have won an Emmy,” Jason Katzman, Plum Vail’s general manager said. “We are also very pleased to have represented the Vail Valley and Eagle County at the Heartland Regional Emmy Awards.”

Milana Simik of Rocky Mountain Planning Group, Inc. has recently completed her Certified Financial Planner course of studies and successfully passed the final exam.

The rigorous, two-day exam is one of the most difficult financial exams in the U.S.

Local real estate broker Jo Ellen Nash recently attended a Mexican cruise hosted by Bob Proctor, a motivational speaker and co-author of the best-seller “The Secret.”

The six-day cruise stopped in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallerta, and Mazatlan, and attracted over 1,500 executives, business owners and other top professionals from around the globe.

Proctor spoke about the “laws of attraction” that govern our ability to be successful all of the time. Proctor believes if you understand these laws and apply them in your life, success will find you.
