Businesses bask in awards glow

BEAVER CREEK – Awards were handed out recently to several outstanding businesses and individuals at the annual Vail Valley Chamber and Tourism Board Roaring ’20s party held at the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek.
The evening once again had ladies in flapper dresses and gentlemen in dapper suits of the 1920s. The Success Connection Awards event is in its third year. Two winners were announced in advance of the event – Ebby Pinson, who received the community achievement award, and the Vail Valley Charitable Fund, which walked away with the nonprofit of the year.
Participate in The Longevity Project
The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.
Also this year, the Gorsuch Family received the outstanding achievement award for their contributions to the community through their business enterprises and their charitable activities.
“In addition to all the local businesses recognized at the Success Connection Awards, the VVCTB’s board of directors wanted to honor individuals that have made positive contributions to the local business community,” said Robin Litt, the chamber’s vice president of partnership. “Not only has the Gorsuch brand set the bar for retailers in the mountains, but their philanthropic contributions are second to none.”Steammaster Restoration and Cleaning won the business of the year award; KZYR Radio is the small business of the year; and Kelly Liken’s restaurant was named emerging business of the year.
Local marketing campaign of the year was given to Slifer Designs, and the regional/national marketing campaign of the year was handed to BeaverCreek.com. The Golden Bear received the award for outstanding customer service.”All of our finalists have made tremendous contributions to the local business community over the past year,” Litt said. “These awards recognize the businesses and individuals that have really raised the bar in the Vail Valley.”
