EDWARDS The Cancer Caring House is on schedule for its opening in March and the the Shaw Outreach Team announced that it has reached its capital campaign goal of raising $4.2 million to build and endow the 12-guest-room facility.The Cancer Caring House will provide overnight accommodations for patients undergoing cancer treatment.The Caner Caring House features 12 guest rooms, great room/dining room, kitchen, community room, library, meditation room, garden room and yoga/wellness room. Patients of the house will experience the supportive atmosphere, which will help build emotional strength while undergoing cancer treatment. The support for the Cancer Caring House has been inspiring. The community has embraced this project wholeheartedly, which has led to the success of our capital campaign. There is not a person today whose life has not been touched by cancer, said Cheryl Jensen, Shaw Outreach Team member.The Cancer Caring House capital campaign will continue to accept donations through the end of this month. Contributions received after that time will be applied to the ongoing operations of the house.Donations can also be made to the Cancer Caring House endowment.
