Candidate to talk transit

AVON, Colorado ” State Rep. Christine Scanlan, now running for re-election in Eagle County, will hold a town hall meeting tonight to talk to residents about transportation in the High Country.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held in the Avon Town Council chambers from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Larry Brooks, Avon’s town manager, and Flo Raitano, director of a group of mountain towns working on Interstate 70 congestion, also will be at the meeting.

Topics will include funding challenges faced by the Colorado Department of Transportation, recent proposals for toll on I-70 and the role of local roads and other infrastructure, Scanlan says.



Scanlan is running against Beaver Creek Republican Ali Hasan to keep her District 56 seat representing Eagle County in the state House of Representatives. District 56 also includes Summit and Lake counties.
