VAIL – The Antlers at Vail is conducting a drawing for a one-of-a-kind handmade quilt, highlighting 13 different dog breeds, with proceeds to benefit the Eagle Valley Humane Society.

The custom-appliqued images depict breeds ranging from the Bernese mountain dog to the Yorkshire terrier. The quilt, created by textile artist Sharon Lundgren, is appraised at $2,500, and $10 donations are encouraged when registering for the drawing.

The quilt is hanging in the lobby the Antlers lodge at Vail. Those interested in viewing this piece of functional art can stop by Antlers at Vail, located on Gore Creek just west of the Lionshead gondola. The drawing will be held Jan. 31, 2005.

Lundgren lives in Longmont and specializes in canine-themed embroidery. Her work can be seen at
