Car burglary spree hits Gypsum

GYPSUM, Colorado ” A loaded handgun was among the property stolen when at least nine cars were broken into in Gypsum late last week, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office says.

All of the cars were broken into while parked in residential areas between Thursday and Saturday. Most of the cars were unlocked, the Sheriff’s Office says.

The Sheriff’s Office says people should always lock their cars, no matter how long the car is going to be parked.

Anyone who believes their vehicle was broken into in the Gypsum area west of Highway 6 to the top of Red Hill should call (970) 479-2200 to make a report.
