Car coveted in Eagle

Eagle Valley Enterprise
Eagle, CO Colorado

EAGLE, Colorado – Eagle police responding to a criminal mischief complaint at a residence along Nogul Road Jan. 25 found a vehicle that had been splashed with white spray paint with derogatory terms scratched in the paint.

The vehicle’s owner said she did not have any idea who could have vandalized her car.

A couple of days later, the owner again contacted police and said one of her friends had confessed to the damage when she learned law enforcement was investigating in the case. The owner said her friend was jealous of the car, prompting the vandalism. The owner also said her friend’s husband promised to pay for the repair.

The victim said she and the other woman used to be best friends, but recently had a falling out. The victim also told officers that her former friend seemed sincerely sorry for her actions, but that her erratic behavior was sometimes frightening.

When officers visited the suspect, she reportedly cried throughout the interview and repeatedly apologized for her actions. Her husband agreed to arrange payment for the repairs and to handle the issue himself.
