Car wreck blamed on road conditions
Wet, slushy conditions are partially to blame for a car accident that injured two Denver-area women Saturday.
The women were traveling west on Interstate 70 around 10 a.m. when the Chevrolet Cavalier they were riding in lost control near Wolcott and flipped over, according to Colorado State Patrol reports.
The two women complained of abdominal, neck and lower back pain and both were taken to Vail Valley Medical Center for treatment, troopers said. Their names were not released and their status was unknown, however a trooper said their injuries were not severe.
The driver of the car was not speeding, but was traveling too fast for the wet road conditions, troopers said.
