CARBONDALE – Jan Garrett and J.D. Martin are premiering their new CD, “Already Home,” on Friday at the Thunder River Theatre in Carbondale.The 8 p.m. concert follows Carbondale’s First Friday art walk that takes place each month along Main Street downtown.During the live show, Garrett and Martin will blend vocals, piano, guitar and humor to create a feel-good show with depth and integrity.Garrett and Martin are award-winning independent singer-songwriters who live and create their music in the Roaring Fork Valley. When they first met in 1995, the duo had each been writing, recording and performing their own music for many years as accomplished solo artists.Martin is a songwriter of five No. 1 and 10 Top Ten country and pop hit singles. His songs have been recorded by such luminaries as Reba McEntire, Terri Clark, B.J. Thomas, Peter Cetera, and the Oak Ridge Boys.Garrett is a jazz musician who has toured with John Denver, Steve Martin and the Dirt Band, and has appeared on the “Tonight Show.” She is also a master teacher.Between the two, Garrett and Martin have written and recorded five CDs of original music. In their latest release, they explore their musical roots of folk, country, gospel and jazz, with lyrics inspired from a broad spiritual perspective.
