Vail Daily: How long have you lived in Vail?Torrey Tobin: A year and a halfbut I pretended to live in Vail for years before of course!VD: Whats the first thing that comes to mind when you hear Mardi Gras?TT: Angelina and Brad. VD: If named royalty, will fame change you?TT: Fame has never changed me before!VD: Have you ever been to the real New Orleans event? If so, whats the craziest thing you did? TT: Never been to the real Mardi Gras, but I have been to Carnivales in Spain. Im pretty sure I rode on a cardboard boat carried by eight men with oars running down a narrow cobblestone street covered in red wine.VD: Whats your favorite cajun food/drink? TT: Hot dish and some Tabasco. Im from Minnesota, we dont do Cajun there!

Vail Daily: How long have you lived in Vail?Shawn Carney: I have lived in Vail for seven years, moved here from La Crosse, Wisconsin. It was in Americas Dairy Land that I grew up and eventually earned a degree in Recreation Management. I started working on Vail mountain in the Terrain Parks/Events department as an intern and have been a supervisor now for five seasons.VD: Whats the first thing that comes to mind when you hear Mardi Gras?SC: When I hear Mardi Gras I think of binge drinking and beads. VD: If named royalty, will fame change you? SC: If I was fortunate enough to become king I dont think that the fame would change me. I think most people see me as a pretty humble person.I would try to use my influence to help solve our affordable employee housing issues in Vail. VD: Have you ever been to the real New Orleans event? If so, whats the craziest thing you did? SC: I have never been to New Orleans, but hope to someday experience Mardi Gras in The Big Easy.VD: Whats your favorite cajun food/drink? SC: My favorite Cajun food is shrimp jambalaya with an ice cold bottle of Budweiser.
