The world has lost a compassionate, loving free spirit with the passing of our beloved daughter and sister, Casey Lynn Schumacher, on Tuesday in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Casey loved music, outdoor adventure and travel. She experienced God through the beauty and wonder of nature, especially the majesty of the mountains. This led her to live in simpler, scenic and mountainous areas of North Carolina, Colorado, California and Montana.

Casey was sensitive, generous and caring, and loved to nurture and minister people in need.

Casey was born on Nov. 8, 1984 in Dallas, raised in University Park and was a lifelong member of University Park United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, William E. Bishop, and is survived by her parents, Dr. John and Amy Schumacher; sisters Lora and Sarah; maternal grandmother LaVere Bishop of Seminole, Okla.; fraternal grandparents Commelite and George H Schumacher, of Rockport, Ind.; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be on Sunday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Northwest Highway. Service will be at University Park United Methodist Church on Monday at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Casey Lynn Schumacher Mission and Outreach Fund at University Park UMC, 4024 Caruth Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75225, or online at http://www.upumc.org.
